Step-by-step instructions

0/7 done
  1. 1

Marinate the beef: Mix beef with all listed ingredients. Let it marinate at least 30 minutes (better 2+ hours).

  2. 2

Sear the beef: Heat a pan with oil on high heat. Sear the beef until browned on the outside (not fully cooked). Remove and set aside.

  3. 3

Cook the veggies: In the same pan, sauté bell peppers, and Scotch bonnet for 2–3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. 4

Build the base: Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to deepen the flavor.

  5. 5

Make the sauce: Pour in beef stock, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, allspice, and thyme. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  6. 6

Thicken + finish: Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce turns glossy and slightly thickened. Then add the beef back in + scallions and simmer for 3–5 minutes until tender and coated in sauce.

  7. 7

Serve: Taste, adjust seasoning, and serve hot with rice.
