A delicious and authentic coconut chutney perfect for pairing with idli and dosa.

  • ·cup Fresh Grated Coconut
  • ·tbsp Roasted Chana Dal (Dalia)
  • ·tbsp Peanuts
  • ·pieces Green Chillies
  • ·inch piece Ginger
  • ·Salt
  • ·cup Water
  • ·Tamarind
  • ·tbsp Oil
  • ·tsp Mustard Seeds
  • ·piece Dry Red Chilli
  • ·sprig Curry Leaves
  • ·Asafoetida (Hing)

    In a blender, combine fresh grated coconut, roasted chana dal, peanuts, green chillies, ginger, and salt.

    Gradually add water to achieve the desired consistency and blend until smooth.

    For tempering, heat oil in a small pan.

    Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

    Add broken dry red chilli, curry leaves, and asafoetida to the oil.

    Pour the tempering over the blended chutney and mix well.
