A flavorful and aromatic biryani made with basmati rice, chicken, and a blend of spices, slow-cooked to perfection.


Ingredients (16)

  • ·cups basmati rice
  • ·g chicken
  • ·pieces onions
  • ·pieces tomatoes
  • ·tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • ·cup curd (yogurt)
  • ·pieces green chilies
  • ·whole spices (bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom)
  • ·tsp turmeric powder
  • ·tsp red chili powder
  • ·tsp garam masala
  • ·fresh coriander & mint leaves
  • ·tbsp oil
  • ·tbsp ghee
  • ·salt
  • ·milk with malai

    Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.

    In a large pot, heat oil and ghee, and add sliced onions. Sauté until golden brown.

    Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and cook for a few minutes.

    Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.

    Add chicken pieces and cook until they are no longer pink.

    Stir in the whole spices, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala.

    Add curd (yogurt) and mix well. Cook for a few more minutes.

    Add the soaked rice and enough water to cover the rice. Season with salt.

    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.

    Garnish with fresh coriander and mint leaves before serving.
