  • ·teaspoon Pepper
  • ·teaspoon Seeragam (Cumin)
  • ·pieces Red chilli
  • ·cloves Garlic
  • ·leaves Curry leaves
  • ·tablespoons Coriander leaves
  • ·tablespoons Oil
  • ·teaspoon Mustard seed
  • ·Salt
  • ·teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ·teaspoon Perungayam powder (Asafoetida)

    Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.

    Add garlic and sauté until golden brown.

    Add red chillies, curry leaves, and seeragam, and sauté for a minute.

    Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.

    Add soaked tamarind water, salt, turmeric powder, and pepper. Bring to a boil.

    Simmer for 10 minutes, then add coriander leaves before serving.
