- ·cup toor dal
- ·cup moong dal
- ·tbsp ghee
- ·dried red chillies
- ·tsp mustard seeds
- ·tsp chana dal
- ·tsp moong dal
- ·hing
- ·curry leaves
- ·onion
- ·green chillies
- ·garlic cloves
- ·tsp turmeric
- ·tomato
- ·tbsp sambar powder
- ·tsp red chilli powder
- ·salt
- ·water

Soak rice, toor dal & moong dal for 20–30 mins.

In a pressure cooker, heat ghee. Add mustard seeds, red chillies, hing, chana dal, moong dal & curry leaves.

Add onions, green chillies & crushed garlic. Sauté till onions turn transparent.

Add turmeric & tomatoes. Cook until soft.

Mix in sambar powder, red chilli powder & salt.

Add soaked rice & dals. Mix well.

Pour water (adjust for desired texture).

Pressure cook until soft and creamy or for 3 whistles.
