Pan-Seared Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes
A delicious pan-seared steak served with creamy garlic mashed potatoes, topped with crispy bacon bits and parsley.

- ·pieces beef steaks
- ·salt
- ·black pepper
- ·tbsp olive oil
- ·tbsp butter
- ·cloves garlic
- ·fresh thyme or parsley
- ·g potatoes
- ·cup warm milk or cream
- ·crispy bacon bits
- ·chopped parsley

Boil potatoes in salted water until very tender (15–20 min).

Drain well.

Mash with butter, warm milk, garlic, salt & pepper. Keep warm.

Take steaks out of the fridge 20 minutes before cooking.

Pat dry and season generously with salt & pepper.

Heat a pan until very hot.

Add olive oil, then steaks.

Sear for 2–3 min per side (medium-rare). Don't move the steak while searing.

Add butter, garlic & herbs. Spoon melted butter over steak for 30 seconds.

Remove and rest for 5 minutes.

Slice steak against the grain.

Serve with mashed potatoes topped with bacon bits & parsley.

Spoon pan juices over the steak.
