Chicken Khichdi
A flavorful and comforting dish made with marinated chicken, rice, and spices.

- ·unit lemon juice
- ·tablespoons oil
- ·units bay leaves
- ·units black pepper
- ·unit star anise
- ·inch cinnamon
- ·medium onion
- ·tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- ·medium tomato
- ·teaspoon turmeric
- ·teaspoon coriander powder
- ·tablespoon red chilli masala
- ·unit rice
- ·small potato
- ·unit water
- ·teaspoon garam masala
- ·teaspoon chicken masala
- ·tablespoon biryani masala
- ·unit salt
- ·chopped coriander

Marinate 250 gm chicken with half lemon juice and keep it aside.

In a vessel, add 2-3 tablespoons of oil.

Add 2 bay leaves, 6-7 black pepper, 1 star anise, and 1/2 inch cinnamon.

Add 1 finely chopped onion and sauté till translucent.

Add 1/2 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste and sauté until onion turns golden brown.

Add 1 medium chopped tomato and sauté it.

Add all spices: 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, and 1 tablespoon red chilli masala. Cook all spices.

Add marinated chicken and rice along with 1 small potato.

Give it a 2 min steam.

Add water and 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1 teaspoon chicken masala, 1 tablespoon biryani masala, salt as per your taste, and some chopped coriander.

Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles and garnish with freshly chopped coriander.
