Homemade Cinnamon Rolls
Perfect for snow days!
Ingredients (14)
- ·cups all purpose flour
- ·cup granulated sugar
- ·tsp yeast
- ·tsp salt
- ·cups water
- ·tbsp unsalted butter
- ·piece large egg
- ·cup unsalted butter
- ·light brown sugar
- ·cinnamon
- ·oz cream cheese
- ·cup unsalted butter
- ·cup powdered sugar
- ·tsp vanilla extract

Whisk 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.

Warm water and butter in the microwave 30–45 seconds (butter won’t fully melt).

Add to dry ingredients with the egg; mix.

Add 2 cups flour and stir until mixed and sticky.

Add 1/2 cup flour; when dough becomes shaggy, start kneading.

Add 1/4 cup flour and knead for 2 minutes.

Roll on floured surface into a rectangle (dough should be about 1/2 inch thick).

Spread butter all the way to the edge and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon to cover the entire surface.

Using a pizza cutter, start on the long side and cut 12 slices.

Roll each slice.

Place in a greased 9×13.

Cover and rise 1 hour in a warm spot (use a warmed, turned-off oven if needed).

Remove rolls, preheat to 350°F, bake 25 min until golden.

Cool slightly and frost.

Mix frosting ingredients with a hand mixer.
